Gravinate has Dimehydrinate as an active ingredient which is a second-generation antihistamine. It contains pyridoxine and doxylamine. Whereas, Pyridoxine is a vitamin that aids in controlling vomiting and nausea during pregnancy.

Dosage and Administration
- Take the recommended dosage of the gravinate medicine. The doctor may prescribe tablets, injections, or syrup depending on the severity of symptoms.
- However, for children, doctors usually recommend oral solutions (syrup). The dosage may differ depending on the severity of symptoms.
- You can take the tablet or liquid form with or without a meal. But if you face any stomach-related effects, then consider taking it after food. Moreover, it is better to take the medicine before the meal when you’re on an empty stomach.
- If you miss a dose of Gravinate, then take the dose as early as possible. But if it is almost the time of the next dose, then skip the previous one and take the next one. And follow the regular dosing schedule.

Gravinate Side Effects
There are no serious side effects after taking Gravinate. But some of the commonly occurring effects are as follows:

Mothers who are pregnant or breastfeeding their babies should consult a doctor before taking this medicine. It can harm your baby’s health. So, it is advised to consult a healthcare provider before taking any antibiotic.
The kidney's function is to detoxify the body. So, in patients with kidney failure issues, if detoxification doesn't happen, the toxins may accumulate in the body and cause adverse effects. Therefore, people with kidney failure should consult their doctor. The doctor may prescribe a lower dose of the medicine.
The liver aids in the metabolism and excretion of drugs. Therefore, in case of any liver-associated disease, drugs can build up in the body. So, before taking Gravinate or any other antibiotic, always consider taking it to your doctor first.
If you’re allergic to Gravinate or any other drug like Gravinate, then do not take it. It can lead to a life-threatening condition called anaphylactic shock.
Anaphylactic shock is a rare but very severe allergic reaction and can lead to death if not treated at the right time. Its signs and symptoms are pale skin, itching, labored breathing, hives, a weak and rapid pulse, runny nose, nausea, excessive salivation, swollen tongue and lips, dizziness, tingling feet, mouth, hands, or scalp, vomiting, sneezing, etc.
It is better to inform your doctor about any allergies you may have.
If you have a history or any medical condition (renal impairment) related to seizures, you shouldn’t take Gravinate because it can provoke seizures.
- Arrhythmias or Heart Conditions
If you have arrhythmias (a condition in which heart rhythm gets abnormal), take Gravinate with the doctor’s advice only because it can cause QT interval prolongation of the heart.
Moreover, people with any heart condition (ischemic heart disease, and hypertension) should take the drug with caution because it can worsen the existing condition.
If you have gastric ulcers or acidity issues, you should take Azithromycin with great caution. As Azithromycin affects the gastrointestinal tract, it can lead to ulceration in the stomach lining. The doctor or pharmacist may prescribe a gastroprotective agent with it.
If you’re using Gravinate, then you shouldn’t operate a vehicle or any machinery. This is because Gravinate can cause disorientation and drowsiness.
Gravinate can increase the pressure inside of the eyes which can increase the case of narrow-angle glaucoma. Therefore, if you have narrow-angle glaucoma, then don’t use gravinate because it can blur your vision.
People who have any neuromuscular disorder such as myasthenia gravis should not use gravinate. It can aggravate the condition of the patients with neuromuscular disease.
People with any respiratory issue should use Gravinate with great caution because it can worsen respiratory issues.

Overdose of Gravinate
Some of the symptoms of an overdose of Gravinate are:
