Hepa-Merz Syrup Formula
Hepa-Merz Syrup contains L-Ornithine and L-Aspartate which belong to the class known as Cholagogues and hepatic class.
Hepa-Merz Syrup Uses
For many liver-associated disorders including, hepatitis, fatty liver, jaundice, etc doctors usually prescribe Hepa-Merz Syrup.
It has L-Ornithine and L-Aspartate which are two endogenous amino acids. It detoxifies the liver and lessens the increased levels of ammonia in the blood (Hyperammonemia). It does so by eliminating the ammonia from the body through the kidneys.

Dosage and Administration
- Doctors recommend taking 2 tablespoons (30ml) of syrup 2 times a day or may prescribe depending on the infection being treated.
- However, for children, doctors may prescribe an oral solution of 1 teaspoon or (5ml) 2 times a day.
- You can take the liquid form with or after a meal. But if you face any stomach-related effects, then consider it taking after food.
- Take the syrup by measuring it with a measuring spoon, cup, or dropper.
- If you miss a dose of Hepa-Merz Syrup, then take the dose as early as possible. But if it is almost the time of the next dose, then skip the previous one and take the next one. And follow the regular dosing schedule.
- Follow the dosing instructions as advised by your doctor.

- Allergic to Hepa-Merz Syrup
If you’re allergic to Hepa-Merz Syrup or any other drug like Hepa-Merz Syrup, then do not take it. It can lead to a life-threatening condition called anaphylactic shock.
Anaphylactic shock is a rare but very severe allergic reaction and can lead to death if not treated at the right time. Its signs and symptoms are pale skin, itching, labored breathing, hives, a weak and rapid pulse, runny nose, nausea, excessive salivation, swollen tongue and lips, dizziness, tingling feet, mouth, hands, or scalp, vomiting, sneezing, etc.
It is better to inform your doctor about any allergies you may have.
Drug Interactions
When you take more than two drugs together, they can cause a reaction in the body. Sometimes the reaction is not obvious. But sometimes, it can cause adverse reactions. Therefore, it is better to consult your doctor before taking any other medicines along with Hepa-Merz Syrup.

Overdose of Hepa-Merz Syrup
There are no overdose of Hepa-Merz cases reported to date. However, if you overdose on Hepa-Merz Syrup, then you should immediately seek medical attention.
In case of an overdose, it is advised to talk to your doctor immediately.

- Store in a cool, dry place, and avoid refrigerating it
- Store it at room temperature (20–25°C)
- Keep it away from heat, direct sunlight, and moisture
- Keep it away from children and pets
- Do not use the medicine once it has passed its expiration date
