Dosage and Administration
- In most of the cases, 1-2 tablets every day are recommended to the patient. However, the exact dosage depends on the conditions, age, and severity of the patient.
- Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet; instead, swallow it whole along with some water.
- If you miss a dose of Caricef Tablet, then take the dose as early as possible. But if it is almost the time of the next dose, then skip the previous one and take the next one. And follow the regular dosing schedule.

- Allergic to Caricef Tablet
If you’re allergic to Caricef Tablet or any other drug like Caricef Tablet, then do not take it. It can lead to a life-threatening condition called anaphylactic shock.
Anaphylactic shock is a rare but very severe allergic reaction and can lead to death if not treated at the right time. Its signs and symptoms are pale skin, itching, labored breathing, hives, a weak and rapid pulse, runny nose, nausea, excessive salivation, swollen tongue and lips, dizziness, tingling feet, mouth, hands, or scalp, vomiting, sneezing, etc.
It is better to inform your doctor about any allergies you may have.
Caricef Tablet should be taken if the bacteria are sensitive to it. If not, then it can cause antibiotic resistance. Therefore, the next time you take Caricef Tablet, it will become difficult to treat the infections.
If you have a history or any medical condition (renal impairment) related to seizures, you shouldn’t take Caricef Tablet because it can provoke seizures.
- Anticoagulants/ Bleeding Disorders
If you have any bleeding disorder or you’re taking any anticoagulants for thinning of the blood, then take cefixime on the advice of the doctor only.
If you have gastric ulcers or acidity issues, you should take Cefixime with great caution. As Cefixime affects the gastrointestinal tract, it can lead to ulceration in the stomach lining. The doctor or pharmacist may prescribe a gastroprotective agent with it.
Drug Interactions
When you take more than two drugs together, they can cause a reaction in the body. Sometimes the reaction is not obvious. But sometimes, it can cause adverse reactions. Therefore, it is better to consult your doctor before taking any other medicines along with Caricef Tablet.
