Medicinal Forms
Dosage and Administration
- For adults, doctors recommend taking 1 capsule of 100 mg every 12 hours. The initial dosage of the capsule is 200mg per day. This means it will be a 100 mg capsule with a gap of 12 hours.
- Doctors may recommend the dosage depending on the infection being treated.
- However, for children, doctors may prescribe the medicine based on their weight.
- You can take the capsule with or without a meal. But if you face any stomach-related effects, then consider it taking after food.
- For the Vibramycin capsule, take the capsule at least 1 hour before the meal or 2 hours after the meal.
- Avoid crushing or chewing the capsule, instead, swallow it whole along with some water.
- If you miss a dose of Vibramycin, then take the dose as early as possible. But if it is almost the time of the next dose, then skip the previous one and take the next one. And follow the regular dosing schedule.

If you have a history or any medical condition (renal impairment) related to seizures, you shouldn’t take Vibramycin because it can provoke seizures.
